One thing that people immediately assume about Birmingham is that it is going to be a poor tourist destination and that there is no point in going there. Looking at the city itself it is easy to see why people might feel this way without researching it in any detail. After all, the city is the second largest in the country and is really a booming metropolis containing many people that are commuting to and from work on a regular basis. These types of cities tend to offer poor attractions and because of the lack of pubs and such other amenities situated to tourists it is usually their decision to go elsewhere.
